If I go out of my way to make an appointment or make plans with someone, I do not appreciate being "penciled in."
This implies that I can simply be erased. All my pre-planning effort rubbed away and turned into dirty little eraser scraps, then wiped onto the floor.
I want to be penned in. Then highlighted. Then triple-circled and bookmarked, with an email notification and cell phone text reminder.

Absolutely baby!!! No more of this pencilled in crap, or "I'll make a note of it" bullsnort. I want it CARVED IN GRANITE AND PLACED IN A PROMINENT POSITION...LIKE THE FRONT LAWN OF THE WHITE HOUSE.
