Maxwell James!

Introducing:
Maxwell James Comfoltey!

Max was born on May 13, 2015 at 3:44pm with a full of head beautiful dark brown hair. He weighed 7lbs 3 oz and measured 19.5" long. His head was 13.5", which is obviously important for you to know. He scored a 9 on his APGAR test, just like his big sister Harper. Today he's five whole weeks old, and it's high time he makes an appearance on the blog.

Look at this perfect little hand.

And this perfect tiny foot.

We really love our little Max. He is the most snuggly baby I've ever had to pleasure of snuggling. He loves to be warm, hates to be naked, and basically just wants me to hold him all day long and never put him down. Ever.

We're now a family of five! How bizarre is that? I vowed (very openly) to never have another child after all of Harper's crying and the constant danger she puts herself in, but Mike and I made the bold decision to give it one more go and we are just so happy we braved those waters. Skylar and Harper are in love with Max. They kiss and snuggle him countless times every day. Harper is trying to brainwash him into loving cats as much as she does, and Sky is trying to teach him math. Sky says he probably thinks his name is "Cute" because he hears that word the very most.

Look at these sweet little faces. Just look at what we've done.

Welcome to the world, Maxwell. We love every little bit of you! Our family is completely nuts. Good luck, buddy.

Some Updates, and 2015 Post #2!

Boy, have I got updates! Loads, really!

We have another kid, for example. A boy kid. We've never made one of those before. He's really cute, too! For a few months I was worried he'd have duck lips because of some unfortunate sonogram pictures, so you can imagine my relief when he was born with perfect human lips. Phew!

Yes, we happily welcomed Maxwell James Comfoltey into the world on May 13, 2015. He weighed 7lbs 3oz and was 19.5" long. More about this precious muffin in another post. Which I fully intend to write.

Sky has officially graduated from kindergarten. She is very depressed about this. She reads at a third grade level and has better handwriting than her parents, but she'd prefer to just stay in kindergarten forever if at all possible. Unfortunately, her teacher checked the "advance to first grade" recommendation box on her report card so perma-kindergarten is out. She spends her days developing her art skills so she can become a famous artist some day. But don't worry, she'll have a rich husband so she'll only charge $3 for her artwork.

Oh, Sky also lost her first tooth recently and has approximately 12 additional loose teeth. I told her I'd blend up her cheeseburgers so she can still eat In N Out. She was disgusted, so I'm succeeding at parenting!

Harper is hilarious as always. I still write down Harpisms and Skyisms when I can, and I plan to post those as well. Harp had a great year in preschool, despite having to switch preschools in mid-March after Miss Libby unexpectedly moved to Phoenix. She is learning to read and continues to injure herself on a daily basis.

Harper loves cats more than life and strives daily to convince Max to love cats as well. When he cries, Harper shoves a stuffed cat in his face to "calm him." Skylar worries that Harp will grow up to be a cat. Harp hopes this truly does happen.

I'm a very active Instagrammer. I've tried, unsuccessfully, so integrate my Instagram posts into automatic blog posts. Maybe some day I'll manage it and my blog will stay up to date. For now, at least I've managed this basic update post. Seeing as Max is five weeks old today and has only now just made it into the family blog, I'll try to find time to write several posts ASAP. I've missed this crazy little corner of the Internet.
