So my little Heather helped me realize that my baby countdown has now jumped below 100 days! Yep, only 95 days 'til due date! (Let's see how close I can get to full term, eh? The furthest my mom ever made it was with Alex and she was still 5.5 weeks early! Luckily, Leisa made it much further with both of her girlies. Maybe we'll take a poll so you can all guess...)
I had originally planned to put a post up when there were 100 days left, but clearly I missed the mark. I think this calls for a picture, seeing as I haven't actually posted any pictures of my ever pregnant self. In fact, I haven't even taken any pictures of myself until just now!
Here's one for the countdown!

Milking It the New Way
(This post title certainly does not refer to pregnancy in any respect. You can relax. Read on!)
Having just moved and settled into our new place in Reno, we had some shopping to do. I'm talking food, people--we needed food. Heaven knows I love food more than ever these days!
Naturally we went to Costco. I was surprised to find the following container claiming to hold milk! At first I was sure they were selling refrigerated chlorine or some other random chemical, but no. This is milk:And it even says on the label "Produced without artificial growth hormone" so I dare say the chemical makeup of the substance within these foreign jugs is at a minimum.
Here is a side-by-side of the traditional milk jug and Costco's new attempt at saving on shipping costs (you buy two of these suckers shrink wrapped together--no boxes--but still square, so they ship happily). I just thought it would put things into perspective:

A Working Boy
Mike is now a worker--a real worker! He's working RIGHT NOW!
I'm so proud. Yesterday was his first day of work at PC-Doctor here sunny Reno and he came home with an armful of PC-Doctor attire (including a Hawaiian shirt for "Hawaiian Shirt Wednesdays") and benefit info.
In two weeks Mikey will come home with his first paycheck! We really like paychecks, so we're looking forward to that day.
Congrats, Mikey! Go get 'em!

Two Weeks Remembered
As many of you are aware, Mike and I have recently moved from Springville, Utah to Reno, Nevada. These past two weeks have been the longest of my life! Let's examine how they were spent, shall we?
Friday, May 30: we drove 9 hours to Reno with the moving truck (which had a speed cap that only allowed a max speed of 75mph) and the trusty ol' Jeep (which also had a speed cap called a "moving truck" in front of it).
Saturday, May 31: Mike and I (and the cats) headed out for another 3.5 hour drive to California. The cats were introduced to their temporary home where they will live until we get into a house later this year.
May 31-Jun4: We stayed at Chateau Laney with my fam and visited Mikey's parents, spent some time with a few friends and even celebrated Mikey's b-day. Happy b-day, Mikey! For some reason I took very few pictures of this trip. I really have no excuse. It was a fun trip, though, and here are the few pictures I bothered to take:
Wednesday, June 4: We drove back to Reno and went to sleep, as we didn't actually get in until 11pm.
June 5-June 8: We unpacked almost everything between Thursday morning and Sunday morning...the rest is still sitting in boxes as we happily pretend it doesn't exist.
Tuesday, June 10: After taking a day to just "relax" we headed back to Utah. Yep. Another 8-9 hour drive, only this time we had no moving truck and no cats in the back seat, so it was a much easier drive. Also, I read half of the first book of the Harry Potter series to Mike while we drove. We spent 2.5 days in Utah, working non-stop, finishing up the basement. Here, have a look!
Thursday, June 12: We waved goodbye to Springville and headed back to Reno. I read more of Harry Potter to Mike, then when we switched so he wouldn't have to drive the whole way he read to me! We got home around 10:45pm. And we slept.
Friday, June 13: We crossed paths with lots of black cats, played "Red Rover" beneath a row of ladders and invited a vampire in for dinner to prove that we are not superstitious. We ran errands and discovered where Target, Barnes & Noble, Whole Foods and a myriad of other treasures are located. Later in the evening we went to see the new Narnia flick.
Saturday, June 14: Today we slept in. Then we showered, ate some breakfast and sat around looking online for a new keyboard for yours truly. At noonish we got some free lunch from State Farm (cheeseburgers) at the apartment clubhouse. Then we came home and watched Eragon on the telly and now here I am writing this post.
The tiny baby has hardly stopped moving through all of this! I think she finds it all very exciting, while I have found it very tiring. I like that she's full of spunk!

IT'S ALIVE!
This being my first time as a pregnant woman I am learning all sorts of things. Some of my more recent realizations include:
- A pregnant woman is bigger than she thinks. That's why she knocks everything off the table when she turns around, and why she gets stuck between large moving boxes in the hallway even though she "knew" she could fit through.
- Pregnant women just can't hold it in. I have always prided myself on my ability to hold it in for hours on end. I have attempted this in my pregnancy and thought I was still fairly successful, then a certain mother tells me this will lead to pre-term labor and/or kidney stones and other miscellaneous infections. So now, when I have to go...I go. Damn those mothers for ruining all our fun! (kidding)
- Pregnant women have funky belly buttons. I have never wanted to see what my belly button really looked like, but apparently I have no choice in the matter. And it looks funky.
But as she was practicing her Kung Fu a couple of days ago I happened to look down and realized that not only can I feel her moving, I can see it! I'm pretty sure it freaks Mike out.
It is a strange thing to look down at your belly and see it popping around. That's all.

It Wasn't a Real Craving
So people keep asking me, "Are you having any weird cravings?"
No. But if you knew me well you would know that it would be completely out of character for me to have weird cravings. I am the pickiest eater known to man. I eat everything plain--no condiments; few sauces are welcome. Even cheesecake makes me suspicious. I love cheese and I love cake, but I love them separately. Cheesecake just contradicts itself in my mind.
In my dreams, however, where food plays a frequent and crucial role, I find myself dreaming up strange concoctions. Things I would never think of when conscious.
Last night I dreamed that I was chillaxing with my pal Whitney. We were at the mall where we happened to pass a new cookie stand. It was comparable to Mrs. Fields, but it wasn't a Mrs. Fields stand. It was run by this snotty woman who needed to learn a thing or two about customer service. We were lured in by these scrumptious looking chocolate/peanut butter cookies. They were like Reese's, but they were in cookie form! And not like those nasty Reese's cookies they sell in 100 calorie packs (I am totally against 100 calorie packs, but that's another story). They were big, fresh cookies with huge chunks of chocolate and peanut butter.
Whitney and I both ordered a cookie. Then the snotty woman asked if we wanted it in her signature sandwich form. Something possessed us to agree and she proceeded to put two buns on a grill with cheese on top. My guess is that we were supposed to take these buns (once the cheese was sufficiently melted) and sandwich our cookies in them.
Luckily this didn't happen in the dream because Mrs. Snotty only gave us one bun with cheese. We had paid her a total of $9.00 and should have received 2 giant cookies and 2 buns with cheese. I spent the next 30 minutes waiting for her to make me a new bun with cheese to complete the order I had already paid for. In the meantime, she helped every other person in the mall while ignoring me altogether.
I woke up very pissed off. But it wasn't a real craving. It was 4:00am.

Rolling Out; Moving In
This has been quite an eventful week! Here is the week in a nutshell:
(FYI: My phone battery now lasts only about 5 minutes when fully charged. This means anyone I usually talk to throughout the week is feeling neglected and unloved. Well, at least we have the Internet! K, back to the post.)
At this time last Friday I had just pulled into Reno and run like mad to make it to my new apartment's office before they closed up shop for the evening. I barely made it in time and was able to get a key to the apt. thus allowing us to move in (with the help of 4 awesome guys from our new ward who just showed up to unload the truck! I love Elders Quorums!).
Following the unloading of the moving truck, we returned said moving truck to the nearest U-Haul place. That felt good. Then we went to In-N-Out (natch) and acquired two plain Double-Doubles and some fries--animal style, sans special sauce.
Side note: before we left to return the truck and get dinner we had put the kitties in the second bathroom with the door closed. When I opened the front door after aforementioned In-N-Outing, there was Hero. She was just sitting in front of the door like, "Oh, hey! I'm just sitting here waiting for you!" Apparently the bathroom door has lever handles. And apparently my cats know how to open doors with lever handles.
We thought about unpacking a few things (meaning I thought about it--Mike wasn't too concerned) but eventually just went to bed. The next morning we took care of a few important issues (Mike still had to sign all the apartment papers and whatnot), stuck the cats back in their little cat carriers, buckled everyone safely into the Jeep and headed for San Francisco! Yep, it was time for a short vacation. Plus we needed to drop the cats off at my parents' house (my parents rock and have agreed to keep the cats at their place until we get into a house in a few months).
The trip was fab. It was both short and long at the same time. Mike and I were totally exhausted the whole time, but that didn't stop Mike from climbing his heart out (in his new harness, a b-day gift from Morgan) at the climbing gym. I didn't climb. Instead I just made fun of yoga poses with my mom and Leisa.
During out trip we visited Mike's friends Matt, Eric and Eric (maybe one of them is spelled like Erik, but I can't be sure). We also chillaxed with Heather and Ross which is always fun. Mike's parents took us out to dinner at a fab steak joint for Mikey's b-day (which was last Saturday and kind of got a little ignored, though we did have cake at my parents' house). I had a 6oz filet mignon, medium-well. Mike had an 8oz filet, medium-rare.
We said goodbye to the family and the kitties and came back to our apartment Wednesday night. The past two days have been spent unpacking and I am proud to say we have made quite a good amount of progress. We even took some time out to have Internet and cable installed, get groceries and watch Evan Almighty. Oh, and clearly I have taken some time out to blog.
Back to organizing for me! Hope you enjoyed the "short" overview of our past week!

Bye Bye, Musica
I decided to take my music dealio off the blog. Mostly because it is always interrupting the music I have playing on iTunes. Also because I haven't updated it for a while and don't feel like taking the time to do that as I can see that taking quite a while. Oh, and it sometimes takes a really long time to load up and then WHAM! Music starts playing and freaks me out!
Just thought I'd share. Enjoy the silence!
