To my children, if you read this some day:
2014 has been a great year so far! We've done lots of fun things and you've grown and learned many amazing skills. Sky learned how to ride her bike without training wheels! Harper learned how to write most of her name! You both earned your sea legs on your very first cruise! I'm telling you: it's been a big year, full of greatness.
I may have failed completely in the blogging realm, but I've kept track of your Skyisms and Harpisms in notes that I fully intend to post here some day. The things you say make every day shine brighter for me. Sometimes you say incredibly funny things, and sometimes you say very sweet things. Sometimes you say gross things, but I categorize those as funny. The gross things you say are flipping hilarious.
Instagram stole me away from Blogging. Your life is being captured in thousands of pictures of hundreds of short video clips. Somehow I will find a way to organize them all so you'll be able to peruse and enjoy at your leisure and know that your memories were captured in one form or another.
Life is busy, and I'm the luckiest person in the world to be able to spend mine with you amazing girls. Sorry for dropping the ball on this one.
Speaking of balls, we had a great time tossing one around the family room together this afternoon! Harper has a really cool way of always hitting the ball behind her--really far behind her--and Sky finds clever loopholes for determining whether or not the ball has touched the ground and messed up our track record. For instance: that spot of floor between the chair and cabinet is a "goal" so it doesn't count if the ball touches it. I feel fine about this too, Sky. Good call.
Love you like crazy!
Mommy
